RDC warns to arrest anyone found out of their homes During New Year celebrations.

With a few hours to usher into the new year, 2022, the Kabale district security committee, has vowed to arrest anyone who will be found out of their homes during curfew time.
The Kabale Resident district commissioner, Godfrey Nyakahuma, who is also the district security committee chairperson, says that during every end of the year, there is always a lot pomp and jubilation, but added that this year, everybody is expected to celebrate in their homes.
He said that enforcement of the curfew will begin at 7:00pm and thereby warning to arrest anybody, who will be found out of their homes during curfew time.

Nyakahuma also said that the country is still under the threat of terrorism and therefore called on all religious to deploy metal detectors and any other provisions of checking whoever will be entering places of worship on 1st January 2022. He also said that night prayers and curfew are all prohibited.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, is this evening at 8pm, expected to address the nation on the concerning the COVID-19 situation in the country. This comes as the country registered 1,658 new cases of the Coronavirus bringing the cumulative confirmed cases to 140,737.
The president is also expected to talk about other matters in his new year’s speech, including the expected reopening of the economy.
