Kabale – In a gesture of corporate social responsibility, Access Financial Services – Kabale Branch has donated 50 three-seater twin desks to Rushaabo Primary School in Kahungye Sub-county, Kabale District.

The donation was officially handed over on Tuesday afternoon in a ceremony held at the school. Aziz Shile, the General Manager for Western Uganda at Access Financial Services, said the contribution is part of the company’s commitment to supporting education in communities where it operates. He emphasized that Kabale District Local Government remains one of their biggest clientele, which motivated their decision to give back to the region.

Rushaabo Primary School, with an enrollment of 1,030 pupils, has long struggled with a shortage of classroom furniture. The Headteacher, David Matsiko, revealed that due to limited resources, many pupils from Primary One to Primary Four often sit on the floor and write on benches, severely affecting their learning environment.

The Senior Education Officer, Robert Ampeire, lauded Access Financial Services for supporting not only Rushaabo Primary School but the broader education sector in Kabale. He also commended Headteacher Matsiko for improving the school’s performance in recent years despite the challenges.

Representing the Chief Administrative Officer John Asiimwe, Emmy Namanya, the Senior Assistant Secretary, praised the strong collaboration between the district and development partners like Access Financial Services. He acknowledged the school’s leadership and stakeholders for managing the institution effectively, which has contributed to increased enrollment.

Namanya also reaffirmed the district’s commitment to enhancing school infrastructure and the general learning environment, ensuring that pupils receive equitable and quality education.
