Kabale District Council has today laid the budget estimates for the 2025/26 Financial Year, totaling UGX 54,150,606,000 (Fifty-four billion, one hundred fifty million, six hundred six thousand shillings).

The motion to lay the draft budget estimates was presented by Kabale District Chairperson, Nelson Nshangabasheija, during a district council meeting held in the District Council Hall. The session was chaired by the Speaker, Flavia Nyinakiiza Kanagizi.

According to the draft budget presented by Nshangabasheija, the District’s budget for the 2025/26 Financial Year has increased by 3.7%, amounting to an additional UGX 2,013,598,000. The budget has risen from UGX 52,137,008,000 in the current 2024/25 fiscal year to UGX 54,150,606,000. The anticipated revenue for the district includes:

  • Local Revenue: UGX 937,420,000 (1.7%)

  • Central Government Transfers: UGX 50,779,599,000 (93.8%)

  • Donor Funding: UGX 1,084,010,000 (2%)

  • Other Government Transfers: UGX 349,578,000 (2.5%)

In addition, Chairperson Nshangabasheija also presented the draft consolidated Annual Work Plan, Procurement Plan, Capacity Building Plan, and Revenue Enhancement Plan for the 2025/26 Financial Year.
