Kabale Newly Appointed Health Workers urged to Uphold Integrity and Professionalism.

The Deputy Chief Administrative Officer of Kabale District, Robert Mugabe, has urged newly appointed health workers to adhere strictly to their work schedules while upholding high standards of integrity, ethics, and transparency in their respective roles.
Mr. Mugabe made these remarks during the induction of enrolled nurses, midwives, lab technicians, and clinicians who were recently recruited by Kabale District Local Government. The event took place today in the District Council Hall.
In his address, Mr. Mugabe emphasized the importance of adopting key principles that contribute to quality healthcare service delivery. These principles include good customer care, respect for supervisors, teamwork, and strong problem-solving abilities.
Dr. Gilbert Arineitwe Mateeka, Kabale District Health Officer, explained that the induction aimed to prepare the new staff by fostering interactions that would allow both the staff and their supervisors to understand each other’s expectations. He stressed the significance of building strong relationships between the newly recruited staff and their immediate supervisors to ensure effective service delivery.
Dr. Mateeka also cautioned the staff against absenteeism, emphasizing the need for commitment to service. He reminded them that, as healthcare professionals, they must prioritize the needs of their clients in every decision-making process.
Paddy Mwesigye, the Kabale District Assistant Health Officer in charge of Maternal and Child Health, highlighted the importance of core values such as honesty, fairness, leadership, accountability, integrity, compassion, respect for the law, transparency, and environmental stewardship.
Bright Akampurira, the Senior Human Resource Officer in Kabale, encouraged the health workers to set clear performance targets. He explained that meeting established performance metrics is crucial to the success of public service and the overall effectiveness of the organization. He further reminded the new recruits that the ultimate goal is to provide efficient, equitable services that meet the needs of the public.
