Kabale District leaders have kick-started the renovation of a classroom block and the construction of a five-stance VIP latrine at Kinyamari Primary School, a project valued at UGX 115,053,540.

According to the District Engineer, Januario Turinawe Bagamuhunda, the works will be executed by Arch Civil Contractors and Builders Co. Ltd and are expected to be completed within three months. The project aims to improve the learning environment and address longstanding infrastructure challenges at the school.

Speaking at the launch, Kabale District Chairperson, Nelson Nshangabasheija, urged the contractor to prioritize hiring local residents so that the community can directly benefit from the project. He also cautioned against substandard work, emphasizing that the district will not tolerate poor workmanship on such critical educational infrastructure.

Representing the Resident District Commissioner, Major Godfrey Katamba, the District Internal Security Officer, Captain Robert Tukundane, appealed to the contractor to expedite the construction process and strictly adhere to the agreed timelines. He underscored the importance of completing the works before the beginning of the 2026 first academic term, so that learners can immediately access the improved facilities.

The project marks another step in the district’s ongoing efforts to uplift the quality of education by ensuring safe, conducive, and well-equipped learning environments.
